Combination Van Gelder – Mobilis uses SitePodium to inform local residents and road users about their progress.
Contractor : Combination van Gelder – Mobilis
Client : Department of Waterways and Public Works (The Netherlands)
The A1 Highway is to be widened by one extra lane between Hoevelaken and Bunschoten. Local residents and road users will experience traffic disruption and noise pollution. Communication is therefore very important. Van Gelder’s Community Engagement Officer Joris van den Hoek administers SitePodium. On average, he publishes one update per day to keep followers informed.
- By sharing exciting milestones through SitePodium, your project receives more support from the community and other stakeholders.
- You can promptly inform road users about traffic disruptions and other possible inconveniences.
- Newsletter of The Department of Public Works
- Newsletter of Combinatie van Gelder – Mobilis
- Letters to local residents
- Area Counsel
- Local media (via press releases)
These media and SitePodium reinforce each other. SitePodium is used to share the updates on the current state of the project, while other tools are used to inform the public about planning or to relieve tensions.
Experiences with SitePodium
“By using SitePodium, it takes little effort for me to reach a group of 200 people about the progress of our construction activities. Local residents, nearby businesses, road users, the Department of Waterways and Public Works employees, the Waterboard, the province of Utrecht and the Municipality of Amersfoort follow their projects through SitePodium. I take that into account with every update I publish. From road inspectors and the Municipality of Amersfoort I have received positive feedback. They receive relevant information from a distance. Local residents are very positive about SitePodium as well. Using SitePodium has definitely nurtured widespread support from the local community.”
Joris van de Hoek, Community Engagement Officer
“Because the construction activities take place right at the doorstep of our apartment block, it’s fun to follow all the developments through SitePodium. It gives great insights on everything involved with these kind of projects. SitePodium is very accessible and gives me daily updates of all progress being made.”
